Jason Murphy started playing golf in elementary school. With the help of his family, instructors and coaches, Jason became a member of the Reynoldsburg (Ohio) Raiders Golf Program. He wore the purple and gold with pride as he played varsity golf for Coach Robinson during his junior and senior years. He was honored to be the MVP his senior year. Jason carried a quote in his golf bag. The quote stated that as long as you take pride in what you do and can go to sleep at night knowing you did your best, then you have been a success!

     School was not always easy for Jason, but through the support of the special education and regular classroom teachers, Jason was able to be successful and go on to pursue his goal of a college degree in golf course management. He had just finished his first year at Columbus State at the time of his death in a tragic auto accident in June of 2003.

     The Jason Murphy Memorial Golf Outing through the help of over eighty businesses and area merchants, has been able to award a $2,500 renewable scholarship to a graduating senior at Reynoldsburg High School since 2004. This student, like Jason, has received services through the special education program.  Although Jason was not able to live out his dream, it is the hope of those who knew and loved Jason that the scholarship in his memory will help another special education student to pursue that dream.

June 12th, 2021. Mark your calendar and plan to be with us.

     The management of Willow Run asks that those attending try to carpool as much as possible. With our great turnout for the outing and the dinner we will need all the parking places we can find!
